Project Manager

NMR is currently seeking candidates for a Project Manager position. We are a small but expanding consulting firm specializing in the evaluation of energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.

We are looking for colleagues who think critically and creatively, take initiative, and are not afraid to ask questions. The ideal candidate will contribute to our culture of teamwork and employee ownership by sharing knowledge freely, offering their unique perspective, and demonstrating a willingness to give and receive constructive criticism.

The anticipated salary for this position is in the $90,000s, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a strong array of benefits, including an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, health, dental, disability, 401K, T passes for those who commute to our Somerville, MA office via public transportation, paid parental leave, and three weeks of paid vacation starting (up to six weeks after multiple years of employment). We prefer candidates located in the Boston area but will also consider candidates located elsewhere who can work from home.

We seek to hire individuals possessing knowledge, skills, and abilities typically gained through Master’s level education in engineering, environmental science, policy, economics, sociology, or other social science programs plus a minimum of five years experience evaluating energy programs. Successful employees will have opportunities for advancement in this growing company and field.

The responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Designing and implementing surveys, and analyzing survey and other data using R, SPSS, or similar data analysis packages
  • Designing, conducting, and managing semi-structured interviews
  • Designing statistical samples and performing tests of statistical significance
  • Conducting complex analyses to estimate energy usage and savings
  • Managing energy program evaluation projects, from initial design through final reporting
  • Writing clear and concise research summaries, memoranda, and reports
  • Overseeing staff who are working on projects
  • Working independently and meeting tight deadlines
  • Serving as the primary point-of-contact with clients

NMR Group is seeking candidates for a Senior Evaluator position. We are a leader in energy-efficiency evaluation and market research and seek an evaluation expert with experience in the energy-efficiency industry to direct studies and help win new work. NMR is 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

The successful candidate will have at least ten years’ experience in the evaluation of energy programs. Candidates with recent experience managing or administering energy programs and with a solid background in evaluation will also be considered. The position does not require relocation; working from home is a viable option, as it has been for many of our employees since the company’s founding.
