Research Intern

NMR is currently seeking candidates for a Research Intern during the spring of 2024. We are a small but expanding consulting firm specializing in the evaluation of energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.

Applicants should possess strong writing skills, organizational ability, and computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Word and Excel. We are looking for applicants who think critically and creatively, take initiative, and are not afraid to ask questions. The ideal candidate will contribute to our culture of teamwork and employee ownership by sharing knowledge freely and offering their unique perspective. An interest in energy efficiency and/or program evaluation is highly valued.

Candidates should be working towards or have recently completed a degree in environmental science, policy, engineering, economics, sociology, or another social science field. Check here to see if you meet the requirements for the Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program.

Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supporting energy market research and evaluation tasks
  • Performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and entry
  • Conducting semi-structured interviews
  • Formatting and proofreading proposals, reports, etc.

This paid internship ($20/hour) offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in energy efficiency program evaluation. The intern will be expected to commit to 20 hours per week from January 8 – May 15, 2024.

This position is expected to work at least 20 hours each month in our Somerville office with the remaining hours working remotely.
