Energy Research Analyst

NMR is seeking candidates for an Energy Research Analyst position. We’re an employee-owned consulting firm specializing in the research and evaluation of energy-efficiency and clean-energy programs.

The anticipated salary for this position is in the $70,000s to $80,000s, depending on qualifications and experience. We prefer candidates located in the Boston area but will consider candidates located elsewhere who can work remotely.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree plus five years’ experience or a Master’s degree plus three years’ experience. We prefer candidates with degrees in engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, economics, sociology, math, statistics, or other social science.

We prefer candidates with experience addressing energy-related subjects and an understanding of program evaluation principles and practices. Successful employees will have opportunities for advancement in this growing company and field. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Performing descriptive quantitative analyses using R and other data analysis packages
  • Performing analyses to estimate energy savings
  • Writing clear and concise research summaries, memoranda, and reports
  • Designing and implementing surveys, and analyzing survey and other data
  • Designing, conducting, and reporting on semi-structured interviews
  • Managing tasks and staff assigned to those tasks
