Energy Data Analytics Consultant
NMR Group is seeking an Energy Data Analytics Consultant with experience in market research, program evaluation, applied research, or the energy industry to fill this highly collaborative and technical role. This individual must have advanced programming skills (including but not limited to R), an interest in training and mentoring junior analysts, and the ability to manage company code repositories.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree plus five years of related experience or a master’s degree plus three years of related experience. For this position, we prefer degrees in data analytics, environmental science, engineering, economics, or a related field. Candidates must be experienced in applied data analysis and demonstrate advanced programming capabilities. The successful candidate will be fluent in English and have strong written and verbal communication skills, task management abilities, and an interest in contributing to a collaborative atmosphere. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated interest in energy-efficiency and climate change policy.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducting all phases of analysis: data collection, compilation and cleaning; exploratory analysis; interpreting results; and creating deliverables
- Performing quantitative analyses using R
- Writing clear and concise summaries, memoranda, and reports
- Assisting in the identification of software, online services, and technological resources to improve the efficiency of data management and analysis
- Creating tools to simplify common analyst needs and providing support for colleagues using them
- Training and mentoring colleagues on how to write and troubleshoot code and develop reproducible models
- Organizing, maintaining, and updating company code repositories using version control tools such as git
- For Engineering Analyst candidates, conduct commercial & industrial site visits and engineering analyses to quantify energy savings
The anticipated salary for this position is from $80k to $100k, depending on qualifications and experience.
