Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: Market Assessment Of Residential Lighting

Historically, residential lighting programs have accounted for a large share of all residential energy savings. In recent years, the implementation of EISA and the introduction of LEDs into the marketplace have drawn into question whether or not continued program support is justified. Recent evaluations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York as well as a recent NEEP study reveal that the residential lighting market is not fully transformed and that there is still a role for programs to play. In fact, evidence suggests the remaining potential is nearly equal to previously achieved savings.
