Tom Mauldin

Director

Tom joined NMR in 2004 and now has over ten years of experience in program evaluation and market research in support of energy efficiency programs. He has an extensive background in designing, implementing, and analyzing telephone surveys as well as conducting in-depth interviews with a variety of customers, market actors, and program stakeholders. Tom is currently serving as the project manager for the evaluation of several residential programs in Wisconsin operated by Focus on Energy. In addition, he is evaluating a pilot power cost monitor program in Vermont, and managing a net-to-gross analysis for the California Multifamily New Homes program. Tom recently served as the project manager for the baseline study of the market for new homes and existing homes in Vermont, which included telephone surveys of homeowners, in-depth contractor interviews, onsite inspections, and a code compliance analysis. He has also managed process and impact evaluations of the residential lighting program and the low-income appliance replacement program sponsored by Efficiency Maine, as well as a residential lighting program operated by Commonwealth Edison. In addition, Tom was involved in two process evaluations of the Energy Trust of Oregon’s New Buildings program. He has a Master of Science degree in Ecology & Environmental Sciences from the University of Maine and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University.

Tom lives in Maine where he enjoys hiking and sea kayaking in the summer, and skiing in the winter.
